Girl with a Pearl Earring heads to Japan

Vermeer's painting, The girl with a pearl earring, that is exhibited at the Mauritshuis museum will be lend to the Kobe museum in Japan, where another Vermeer painting was previously lend but has suffered some damage due to environmental conditions in the Kobe. The Mauritshuis museum has agreed to send it along with other 50 pictures of the collection that are being toured to raise money for the expansion of the Mauritshuis.
